Migrate a Zoom Cloud Recording to Kaltura MediaSpace (Staff and non-Canvas Users)

Overview

Zoom Cloud Recordings can be migrated to Kaltura by downloading them from the Zoom Web Interface and uploading them to MediaSpace. To migrate Cloud Recordings in Canvas, please see this article.

Important Points

  • Beginning on February 1, 2021, all newly created Zoom Cloud Recordings will automatically be copied to the meeting host's "My Media" area of Kaltura.
  • Any recordings made prior February 1, 2021 should be copied to Kaltura using the following process if you wish to keep them for long-term storage or distribution.
  • Beginning on March 1, 2021, Zoom Cloud Recordings be given a 6 month expiration date, and will be deleted from the Zoom Cloud after this time frame.

Access the Zoom Cloud Recording

1) Sign in to the Zoom web portal at rider.zoom.us

2) Navigate to Recordings on the left hand side

3) Click on the topic of the meeting to view the Cloud Recording Files

4) Click on the Download button [1] to download all the recordings' files OR hold your mouse over one of the files below (e.g., Shared screen with speaker view, Audio only) and click the download button [2] to download just the file.

Upload the Recording to MediaSpace

1) Navigate to mediaspace.rider.edu and sign in using your Rider Key.

2) Select "Add New" and then "Media Upload"

3) Upload the video that you've downloaded from Zoom

4) Fill in the appropriate fields
