Browser requirements for users who want to stream the commencement ceremony online

What is needed to view the Rider Commencement 

 

A day before commencement, a link will appear on the Commencement page for the stream. The link will not be known until that time.

Your computers individual bandwidth needs to be 400 Kbps or greater to the Internet. To test your bandwidth, please use one of the following links:

*Remember, you need to account for other users on your network connection

Recommended Operating Systems: Windows XP, Windows 7 or 10 & Mac OSX

  • Your computer needs to be free of any viruses, we recommend that all security updates must already have been applied before viewing the video stream.
  • Check your Operating Systems Firewall is not configured excessively restrictive
  • If viewing from a Business Connection, please verify with IT Department that their firewall will not affect the video stream
  • Appropriate Plug-Ins required (allows the web browser to play video content, generally installed automatically when the computer is first purchased and needs to be updated periodically)
  • Windows – Window Media Player or Flash Media Player
  • Mac OSX – Flash Media Player or Flip4Mac
  • *Recommended Browsers: Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer
  • Close/Shutdown all other operating systems. This can cause video to stream erratically or not at all.
