University Policy and Procedures for Instructional Software

University Policy and Procedures for Research Software

  • Faculty requesting new or additional software licenses for research purposes should direct their request through OIT faculty liaisons Hope Corman and/or Lauren Eder to review the request and verify there are no existing alternatives since some software is used for both instructional and research purposes. All information is required to be in a Help Desk ticket.
  • Between April 1st and Commencement the Office of Information Technologies surveys faculty to collect software needs in preparation for the new academic year. Software needs not collected during this window should be submitted to the Help Desk.
  • A minimum of 2 weeks advance notice is required to install Rider licensed software in classrooms, labs and on faculty workstations. Note that software requests made after August 1st may not be ready for the start of the Fall semester due to high summer work volume
