Removal of Support for Internet Explorer 11

StarRez is announcing the removal of support for Internet Explorer 11 effective July 1, 2019. If you are currently using IE 11, we recommend you switch to a supported browser.

What does this mean?

Currently some StarRez products, including StarRez Web and StarCare Online support the use of Internet Explorer 11 by StarRez users. Starting on July 1st, 2019 these users may experience partial or complete loss of functionality within those products if they do not switch to another browser.

Why is StarRez removing this?

In 2015, Microsoft released the Edge browser as a replacement for IE. Because of this, Internet Explorer no longer receives major updates adding the latest security and functionality that supports complex web apps like StarRez Web and StarCare Online.

StarRez strives to deliver products that meet our customers’ needs. The increasing gap between Internet Explorer 11 and all other browsers has meant that we needed to expend considerable effort to avoid and fix defects that only appear in that browser. It limits our technology choices and dampens our ability to deliver the reliability and functionality our customers expect.

What do I need to do?

Update your systems to ensure that staff use a browser that will remain supported. StarRez supports the latest two versions of the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge

Am I affected?

Anyone using Internet Explorer 11 to access StarRez Web or StarCare Online will be impacted. While the browser may continue to work, there will likely be a degradation of performance over time, and eventually a loss of functionality.
