Nowires Online Registration for Laptops
Rider University maintains a wireless network for student and staff access (referred to as Nowires). The Nowires wireless network will provide users with long term wireless access after completing device registration.
Enabling WiFi Connection
Windows 7
1. Hover the mouse pointer over the Wireless Network Connection icon located in the system tray. Click 'View Available Wireless Networks.'
2. Find 'Nowires' from the list of available networks (SSIDs), and click it, Check the 'Connect Automatically' check box, so your device will automatically sign onto 'Nowires' when in range of the network.
3. Click the Connect button.
- Wait a few seconds while your computer acquires an IP address from the Nowires network. Once an IP address has been acquired, the little yellow star will disappear from the Wireless Network Connection icon.
Windows 10
1. Click on the WiFi icon in the system tray on the lower right-hand corner of your screen.
You will see the option to choose nowires from a list of available networks.
2. Choose Nowires and you will be presented with the option to connect and to Connect Automatically.
Macintosh Configuration
1. Click on the WiFi icon in the system tray. Verify that the WiFi is turned.
2. Select 'Nowires' from the list of available wireless networks.
Registering
1. Open an Internet browser; Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, or Safari.
2. If you have successfully joined the “Nowires” wireless network you will automatically be connected to the Nowires registration page.
3. Enter your user ID and RIDER KEY password. Press enter.
4. When you see the registration acknowledgment your registration is complete. Your registration will expire at the end of the current semester. When your device registration expires you will need to complete this registration process to enroll your device again.
